John D. Kuchma, Sr. 81

Entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 20, 2020 at JFK Medical Center in Edison.

Born in Elizabeth, he resided in Carteret and Port Reading before moving to Woodbridge in 1962. Mr. Kuchma attended Perth Amboy Vocational School and was employed by US Metals in Carteret for 40 years before retiring as a foreman. He was an avid boater, fisherman and hunter and belonged to hunting clubs in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York State. He was a leisure boater for 30 years and after his retirement owned and operated Kuchma Fishing Corporation where he was the captain of the "Jolly Olly", "Jackpot" and "Jackpot II".

Mr. Kuchma was a communicant of Saint James Catholic Church in Woodbridge and Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Port Reading. He was predeceased by his wife, Olga "Ollie" Markus Kuchma, in 2016; parents, Josephine and John H. Kuchma; brother, Donald Kuchma; and sister in law, Nancy.

Surviving are his children, Joan Kopervas and her husband, Gary, of Marlton and John D. Kuchma, Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Fords; sister, Patricia McDonnell and her husband, Jerry; brothers in law, Bill Markus and his wife, Viola, and Steve Markus and his wife, Rosalie; grandchildren, Kyle, Kenny, Danielle, Kaitlyn, Kevin and Breanna; and many supportive nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Costello-Greiner Funeral Home (costello-greiner.com), 44 Green Street at Barron Avenue, Woodbridge. John's Obituary
